Note that if you do use Logic, you should not delete these files. Garage Band is opaque about what it downloads. Interestingly, most other people have said they have 2-3 GB of Garage Band files, so presumably they downloaded files differently.
I did, at one point, download some files – presumably loops – from Garage Band, but it never told me how much was being downloaded, and never showed a progress bar. Type in Garageband, in the search bar and it should be.
